The authors study parametrized homotopy theory from an \(\infty\)-categorical perspective. Their applications include multiplicative generalized Thom spectra and twisted cohomology theories. More specifically, they construct a twisted Umkehr map for twisted cohomology theories that results from a twisted Pontryagin-Thom transfer. Moreover, based on a study of multiplicative properties of Picard spaces of presentable \(\infty\)-categories, they show that the \(\infty\)-categorical \(R\)-module Thom spectrum functor for an \(E_n\)-ring spectrum \(R\) and the associated Thom isomorphism preserves \(E_m\)-monoidal structures if \(m n\). This extends the authors' joint work with Hopkins and Rezk [\textit{M. Ando} et al., J. Topol. 7, No. 3, 869--893 (2014; Zbl 1312.55011)]. The paper also includes a treatment of objects parametrized by an \(\infty\)-topos that serves as an input for some of the above results and a comparison with the approach to stable parametrized homotopy theory by \textit{J. P. May} and \textit{J. Sigurdsson} [Parametrized homotopy theory. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS) (2006; Zbl 1119.55001)].
