The authors establish an identity between hypergeometric integrals of different dimension which occur as solutions of either KZ or dynamical differential equations for the Lie algebra gl\(_2\). For the equated integrals, there is a coupling between the dimensions of integration and the exponents of the master functions in the integrands. The stated identity reflects a duality sitution on the Lie algebra level. It allows to interpret a dimension as an exponent (i.e. an integration parameter), and vice versa. As an application, the asymptotics of certain hypergeometric integrals as dimension goes to infinity is determined.
