The author verifies the conjectures of \textit{J. L. Alperin} [Proc. Symp. Pure Math. 47, 369-379 (1987; Zbl 0657.20013)] and \textit{E. C. Dade} [Invent. Math. 109, No. 1, 187-210 (1992; Zbl 0780.20006)] for the simple Conway group \(Co_3\). His computations of radical subgroups, radical chains, normalizers and character degrees make use of the computer algebra system CAYLEY.
