The author presents three level difference schemes for a quasilinear the wave equation. Difference schemes for the wave equation with strong dissipative term are constructed. The convergence of the proposed scheme with order \(O(h^2+\tau^2)\) is proved. The error of difference solution is estimated. The theoretical result is illustrated by a numerical example.
