A common approach to solve a multiobjective optimization problem is the use of scalarizing functions. Many different scalarizing functions have been suggested in the literature based of different methods. This paper concerns on the classification and reference point-based functions and presents a collection of functions that have been used in interactive methods as well as some modifications. Among the scalarizing functions we mention that used in the step method, in the satisficing trade-off method, the achievement function introduced by Wierzbicki, in the naive method, in the NINBUS method and others. The authors also compare the theoretical properties and numerical behaviour of such scalarizing functions.
