Let \(S\) be the class of normalized \((f(0)= 0, f'(0)= 1)\) univalent functions defined on the unit disk \({\mathbf D}\). For the class \(S\) one frequently considers problems of the form: Given a property \(P\), determine the maximal radius \(r\in (0, 1]\) such that each \(f\in S\) has the property \(P\) on the disk \(\{z: |z|< r\}\). The author solves three problems of this type. He determines the radius of uniform starlikeness (the root of a complicated equation), the radius of uniform convexity \(((4- \sqrt{13})/3)\) and the radius of starlikeness with respect to symmetric points \((\text{tanh}(\pi/8))\) for the class \(S\). He also considers the same three radii problems within the class \(S^*\) of normalized starlike functions. In this context only the exact radius of uniform convexity is determined; it is the same as for the full class \(S\).
