Let \(V_{k}( \mathfrak{g}, B)\) be the universal affine vertex algebra of level \(k\) associated to a finite-dimensional Lie algebra \(\mathfrak{g}\) with invariant bilinear form \(B\). Let \(G\) be any reductive group of automorphisms of \(V_{k}(\mathfrak{g}, B)\). In the paper under review the author proves that for generic \(k\), the invariant subalgebra \(V_{k}(\mathfrak{g}, B) ^{G}\) is strongly finitely generated vertex algebra. This result is very useful in the theory of vertex algebras and \(\mathcal{W}\)-algebras, since it is an important step in studying orbifold vertex algebras and their representations.
