The authors consider the following nonlinear problem \[ u''+a(t)g(u)=0, u'(0)=u'(T)=0,\tag{1} \] where \(t\in[0,T]\), \(I\subseteq\mathbb R\) is an open interval, \(g:I\to\mathbb R\) is a continuously differentiable function such that \(g(s)\neq0\) for every \(s\in I\) and \(a\) is a sign-changing function such that \(a\in L^1(0,T)\). Using an equivalent formulation with (1), the authors look for solutions \(u(t)\) of (1).
