The authors present a new extremum-preserving finite volume scheme for the convection-diffusion equation. Using the harmonic averaging point on interface to define the auxiliary unknown, the interpolation process for 3D problem is simplified. The discretization of convection flux is performed using a second-order accuracy formula. Some numerical tests are presented to support the theoretical results.
