The author defines the notion of a chain geometry over a group with a partial fibration into subgroups and a suitable involution. This generalizes the affine substructure of classical chain geometry, so for instance of Möbius-, Laguerre- and Minkowski geometry. Several results are obtained in this general situation which covers also Herzer's affine chain geometry for the case of a Jordan algebra.
