Let \((S,+,\cdot)\) be an additively commutative semiring with absorbing zero \(0\) and identity \(1\). Then \(S\) is called a left (right) \(V\)-semiring if all simple left (right) \(S\)-semimodules are injective, and \(S\) is called a left (right) \(V^\ast\)-semiring if all simple left (right) \(S\)-semimodules are projective. It is shown that each left (right) \(V^\ast\)-semiring is a left (right) \(V\)-semiring. But, in contrast to rings, a right \(V^\ast\)-semiring need not be a left \(V^\ast\)-semiring, and vice versa.
