In the present paper, we consider the moment method for solving Boltzmann's equation. The use of the principles of nonequilibrium thermodynamics in the construction of the system of moment equations [\textit{S. P. Bakanov} and the author, Prikl. Mat. Mekh. 41, 651-659 (1977; Zbl 0431.76061)] and the boundary conditions guarantees fulfillment of the Onsager relations for any accuracy of solution of the kinetic equation. In this one can see an advantage of the method of finding a solution of the Boltzmann equation developed in the present paper. In addition, the obtained result indicates a general approach to the construction of approximate solutions of kinetic equations ensuring fulfillment of the relations postulated by nonequilibrium thermodynamics.
