    An almost contact metric structure \((\varphi,\xi,\eta, g)\) on a manifold \(M\) is said to be trans-Sasakian if the almost Hermitian structure \((J, h)\) induced by \((\varphi,\xi,\eta, g)\) on \(M \times \mathbb R\) is locally conformally Kähler. It turns out that an almost contact metric manifold \(M(\varphi,\xi,\eta, g)\) is trans-Sasakian if and only if \((\nabla_ X\varphi)=\alpha\{g(X,Y)\xi-\eta(Y)X\}+\beta\{g(\varphi X,Y)\xi-\eta(Y)\varphi X\}\). If \(\beta=0\), then \(M\) is \(\alpha\)-Sasakian; if \(\alpha=0\), then \(M\) is \(\beta\)-Kenmotsu; and if \(\alpha =\beta= 0\), then \(M\) is cosymplectic. An almost Hermitian manifold \(N(J, h)\) is called quasi-Kähler if \((\nabla_ XJ)Y+(\nabla_{JX}J)JY = 0\), and nearly-Kähler if \((\nabla_ XJ)X = 0\). If \(M(\varphi,\xi,\eta, g)\) is an almost contact metric manifold and \(N (J, h)\) is an almost Hermitian manifold, then a smooth map \(\Phi : M \to N\) is said to be \((\varphi, J)\)-holomorphic if \(d\Phi\circ \varphi=J\circ d\Phi\), and a smooth map \(\Psi : N \to M\) is said to be \((J,\varphi)\)-holomorphic if \(d\Psi\circ J=\varphi\circ d\Psi\). A smooth map \(f :M_ 1\to M_ 2\) between two Riemannian manifolds \(M_ 1\) and \(M_ 2\) is harmonic if the tension field \(\tau (f)\), which is the trace of the second fundamental form \(A_ f\) of \(f\), vanishes. In this paper, the author obtains some results on the harmonicity of \((\varphi,J)\)-holomorphic and \((J,\varphi)\)-holomorphic maps between a trans-Sasakian manifold \(M(\varphi,\xi,\eta,g)\) and an almost Hermitian manifold \(N(J,h)\). It is shown that if \(M(\varphi,\xi,\eta,g)\) is a trans-Sasakian manifold and \(N(J,h)\) is a quasi-Kähler manifold, then any \((\varphi,J)\)-holomorphic map \(\Psi: M\to N\) is harmonic, and if \(M(\varphi,\xi,\eta,g)\) is a trans-Sasakian manifold and \(N(J,h)\) is a nearly-Kähler manifold, then any \((J, \varphi)\)-holomorphic, non-constant map, \(\Psi : N \to M\) is harmonic if and only if \(M\) is an \(\alpha\)-Sasakian manifold.
