In this paper there are obtained several results related to the Ginzburg-Landau energy, in connection with an eigenvalue Steklov problem. The main results concern the following two issues: (i) loss of stability of the normal state in zero field, and (ii) the long time behavior of a Brownian motion with creation of particles at the boundary. The proofs follow by combining elliptic and eigenvalue estimates with standard variational arguments.
