The paper is devoted to the description of acceleration techniques for the accelerated overrelaxation AOR iterative method when applied to \(L\)-matrices. In particular, a preconditioning technique is developed which enables the use for general \(L\) matrices. Thereby, both a mathematical analysis and a numerical example are presented.
