It is known that a quasiconformal mapping between two domains bounded by Jordan curves can be continuously extended to the boundary to be a homeomorphism between the closures of the two domains. This is not always true for locally quasiconformal mappings, which may be unable to be continuously extended to the boundary. The locally quasiconformal mapping is a homeomorphism of a domain \(D\) whose restriction on each subdomain \(D'\subset D\) is a quasiconformal mapping. So for locally quasiconformal mappings it is not necessary that \(\|\mu\|_{\infty}<1\). This paper discussed two cases when a measurable function \(\mu(z)\) on the unit disk can be the Beltrami coefficient of a locally quasiconformal mapping which can be extended to be a homeomorphism of the closed unit disk. One of the cases is related to a condition about the directional dilatation, and the author proves that it is a generalization of a theorem in [\textit{Z. Li}, Complex Variables, Theory Appl. 23, No. 3--4, 231--247 (1993; Zbl 0794.30018)].
