Pure projective torsion-free modules over a Bass integral domain \(R\) are considered. Under the assumption that the normalization of \(R\) is finite over \(R\), it is proved that pure projective torsion-free \(R\)-modules cannot be superdecomposable. For arbitrary Bass rings as well as for serial rings the corresponding question is still open. The proof needs the finiteness of the normal closure by making use of a reduced Auslander order built from the overrings of \(R\).
