This paper is centered around the following parabolic-hyperbolic phase field system (of Caginalp type) \[ \chi_t-\Delta\chi+\chi^3-\chi-\theta=0,\quad \theta_t+\chi_t+\text{div}q=0,\quad q_t+q+\nabla\theta=0 \] in \(\Omega\times(0,\infty)\) equipped with homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions for \(\chi\), \[ \delta_n\chi=0\quad\text{on }\Gamma\times(0,\infty), \] no-heat flux boundary conditions for \(q\), \[ q\cdot n=0\quad\text{on }\Gamma\times(0,\infty) \] and the initial conditions \(\chi(0)=\chi_0\), \(\theta(0)=\theta_0\), \(q(0)=q_0\) in \(\Omega\subseteq{\mathbb R}^3\), which is a bounded domain with smooth boundary \(\Gamma\); moreover, \(n\) denotes the outward normal direction to the boundary. In the first part, global existence and uniqueness of a strong solutions is shown, as well as the precompactness of the corresponding forward orbit. Local existence follows from a contraction mapping argument. Then, for the corresponding stationary problem it is proved that at least one classical solution exists. In addition, \(\omega\)-limits set of the strong solutions are singletons. The results are based on a generalized Łojasiewicz-Simon inequality.
