    The paper deals with the initial boundary value problem \[ \begin{aligned} u_t = \Delta u - a| u| ^{p-1} u \quad &\text{for } x \in \Omega, \;t>0, \tag{1}\\ \frac{\partial u}{\partial \nu} = | u| ^{q-1} u \quad &\text{for } x \in \partial \Omega,\;t>0, \tag{2}\\ u(x,0) = u_0(x) \quad &\text{for } x \in \Omega, \tag{3}\end{aligned} \] where \(\Omega \subset \mathbb R^n\) is a smooth bounded domain, \(\nu\) denotes the outer unit normal on the boundary \(\partial \Omega\) and \(u_0(x) \geq 0\). Let \(u_k\) be the solution of (1) satisfying the initial condition (3) and the boundary condition \[ \frac{\partial u}{\partial \nu} = \min (u^q,k) \quad \text{for } x \in \partial \Omega, \;t>0, \] then \(\bar u = \lim_{k \to \infty} u_k\) is called the proper minimal solution. We say that \(u(x,t)\) blows up completely at \(t=T(u_0)\) if \[ \bar u (x,t) = u(x,t) \quad \text{for } x \in \Omega, \;t<T(u_0) \quad \text{and} \quad \bar u(x,t) = \infty \quad \text{for } \;x \in \Omega, \;t>T(u_0). \] According to the author's remark all known results on complete blow up require \(n=1\) and \(p=1\) [see particularly \textit{M. Fila} and \textit{J.-S. Guo}, Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl. 48, 995--1002 (2002; Zbl 0994.35066)] and \textit{S. Quiros, J. D. Rossi} and \textit{J. L. Vazquez}, Commun. Partial Differ. Equ. 27, 395--424 (2002; Zbl 0996.35036)]. The aim of the paper is to show that under suitable assumptions complete blow-up is also true for \(n>1\) and \(p>1\).
