The CR geometry on pseudo-Riemannian manifolds has already been applied to the representation theory of the group \(SO(p,q)\). This paper extends it to the case of the group \(SU(p,q)\). The main result is that the kernel of the CR Yamabe operator on a CR manifold M is a representation of the conformal CR diffeomorphism group of M. Then a representation of \(SU(p,q)\) on the kernel of the CR Yamabe operator on the projective hyperquadric \(\bar{Q_{p,q}}\) is constructed. Correspondingly, it is a complex version of Kobayashi-Orsted's model of the minimal irreducible unitary representation \(w-^{p,q}\) of \(SO(p,q)\) on the space \(S^{p-1}\times S^{q-1}\).
