The authors concern with the question of spatial decay for solutions of the system \[ \tau u_{i,t}= -u_i- xT_{,i}+ \mu\Delta u_i+\nu u_{j,ji}, \qquad cT_{,t}= -u_{i,i}, \tag{1} \] where \(\tau\) is the relaxation time, \(x\) the thermal conductivity, \(c\) the specific heat at constant volume, \(\mu\) and \(\nu\) are phenomenological coefficients, and the symbol \(\Delta\) the Laplace operator. More precisely, the authors consider (1) defined on a semi-infinite cylinder subject to the different boundary and initial conditions.
