Let \(f=f(x_1, \dots ,x_n)\) be a germ of a holomorphic function on \((\mathbb C^n, 0) \) and \(X\) the hypersurface defined by \(f\). \textit{K. Saito } [Invent. Math. 14, 123--142 (1971; Zbl 0224.32011)] proved that if \((X,0)\) is an isolated singularity and \(f\in (\partial f/\partial x_1, \dots ,\partial f/\partial x_n)\) then by a suitable coordinate system \(f\) is represented in a quasihomogeneous polynomial; the \(\mathbb C^*\)-action on the singularity is induced from the semisimple part of degree zero part of an Euler vector field. The results in the paper under review, which are motivated by this result and the extension given in [\textit{H. Hauser} and \textit{G. Müller}, Nagoya Math. J. 113, 181--186 (1989; Zbl 0649.32010)], are as follows. Suppose that \(f\) is algebraic over \(\mathbb C[x_1, \dots ,x_n]\). Then, from logarithmic vector fields along \(X\), a maximal algebraic torus in the automorphism group of the pair \((\mathbb C^n, X)\) is constructed ([\textit{M. Granger} and \textit{M. Schulze}, Compos. Math. 142 (3), 765--778 (2006; Zbl 1096.32016)] treats the formal case). Furthermore such maximal tori are conjugate and in one-to-one correspondence to maximal tori in the linear jet of the automorphism group above.
