The underlying space for the problem considered in this paper is a simplicial lattice cone in \({\mathbb{R}}^n\). In this space the authors discuss a method to solve a multidimensional difference equation. The coefficients in the lattice are usually taken from a field of characteristic \(0\), but for concreteness purpose (e.g., differentiating) they restrict to the fields \(\mathbb{R}\) or \(\mathbb{C}\). As an essential tool the authors use sections of the generating series via shift operators and projections. Thanks to these sections the problem reduces to the study of polynomial equations, which are much easier to handle. In the beginning of the paper the authors provide a complete list of the basic definitions, thus helping the reader who is not familiar with the topic. Then a sequence of lemmas, remarks and theorems (with complete proofs) follows. Several figures help the reader to figure out the results. The paper ends with an example. The good readability of the paper is definitely an added value of this work.
