Let \(M\) and \(W\) be dual torus fibrations over a base torus \(B\). A connection \(A\) on a holomorphic line bundle \(L\) over \(M\) is dual to a Lagrangian section \(\mathcal{L}\) of the torus fibration \(W\to B\). If \(\mathcal{L}\) is a special Lagrangian, \(A\) must satisfy the deformed Hermitian Yang-Mills equation on \(L\): \[ \quad\text{{Im}}(\omega-F)^n=\text{{tan}}(\hat{\theta})\text{{Re}}(\omega-F)^n\leqno{(\ast)} \] where \(\omega\) is the Kähler form of \(M\), \(F\) is the curvature of the connection \(A\), and \(\hat{\theta}\) is the phase of the special Lagrangian. This paper studies the above equation when \(L\) is a holomorphic line bundle over a compact Kähler manifold \(X\). The main results are formulated as follows. Theorem 1. Let \(L\) be a holomorphic line bundle on a compact Kähler manifold \(X\). Suppose that there exists a metric \(h\) on \(L\) that solves the equation (*). Then any other solution is a real constant multiple of \(h\). The next result addresses the existence of solution to (*) in the case that \(X\) is a Kähler surface. Theorem 2: Let \(L\) be a holomorphic line bundle over a Kähler surface \(X\). Then \(L\) admits a solution to (*) if and only if there exists a metric \(h\) on \(L\) such that \(\Omega>0\), where \(\Omega\) is the Kähler form defined by \(\Omega:=\text{{cot}}(\hat{\theta})\omega+iF\). To address the existence of solutions in higher dimensions, a parabolic evolution equation is introduced for the metric \(h\) on \(L\), which is the gradient flow of the functional \(V(\cdot)\), and working with this equation, some convergence results are obtained. Theorem 3. Let \(L\) be an ample line bundle over a compact Kähler manifold \(X\) with non-negative orthogonal bisectional curvature. There exists a natural number \(k\) so that \(L^{\otimes k}\) admits a solution to (*). Furthermore, this solution is constructed via a smoothly converging family of metrics along the line bundle mean curvature flow. There is another convergence result, which proves that the flow converges as long as \(\nabla F\), the line bundle analogue of the second fundamental form of a Lagrangian submanifold, stays bounded in \(C^{0}\).
