The authors study families of compact homogeneous 4-dimensional Lorentzian manifolds \(M_{k,i}=G\slash \Lambda_{k,i}\), which are stationary, that is, they admit an everywhere time-like Killing vector field. They show that every light-like geodesic on such a manifold is periodic, while there exist closed and non-closed space-like and time-like geodesics. Moreover, the isometry groups of such manifolds are computed. It is also show that there exists a non-trivial action by isometries of \(\text{H}_3 (\mathbb R)\) on the nilmanifold \(S^1\times(\Gamma_k\backslash\mathrm{H}_3 (\mathbb R))\) for \(\Gamma_k\), a lattice of \(\mathrm{H}_3 (\mathbb R)\).
