In the perspective of a generalized topological space \((GTS)\) as introduced by \textit{Á. Császár} [Acta Math. Hung. 96, No. 4, 351--357 (2002; Zbl 1006.54003)], the authors introduce generalized cluster sets (\(g\)-cluster sets in short) of functions and multifunctions. Several variants of cluster sets are already in vogue in the literature -- some of them being christened by their introducers as \(\theta\)-cluster sets, \(\delta\)-cluster sets, \(S\)-cluster sets, \(s\)-cluster sets, \(p\)-cluster sets etc. The authors have endeavoured to present a unified theory by introducing \(g\)-cluster sets which unify the above mentioned variants of cluster sets of functions and multifunctions. With \(\mu_1\) and \(\mu_2\) two generalized topologies (GT's) on \(X\) and \(\eta_1\), \(\eta_2\) two GT's on \(Y\), for a function \(f\) between the Bi-GTS's \((X, \mu_1,\mu_2)\) and \((Y,\eta_1,\eta_2)\), the \(g\)-cluster sets of \(f\) at \(x\in X\), denoted by \(G(f, x)\) are characterized via filter bases and grills as well. A concept of degeneracy for \(G(f, x)\) is defined and conditions are enunciated under which \(G(f, x)\) becomes degenerate. A separate section is provided for multifunctions. For a multifunction \(F \colon X\to Y\) between two nonempty sets \(X\) and \(Y\), the graph of \(F\) is defined; for \(F \colon (X,\mu_1,\mu_2)\to (Y,\eta_1,\eta_2)\) where \(F\) is a multifunction, \(G(F,x)\) is defined and an expression for it via its graph is provided. Moreover, \(\mu\)-compactness of a \(GTS\) is characterized through \(g\)-cluster sets of multifunctions.
