On a model for soft landing with state-dependent delay (Q2465120): Difference between revisions

Starting from modeling automatic soft landing, the following system of functional differential equations is considered \[ \dot{u} = v,\quad \dot{v} = a(p,\dot{p}),\quad p=(1/2)[u(t)+u(t-2p/c)]. \] This system is shown to belong to the class of retarded functional differential equations but with state dependent delay. The paper contains the general theory (existence, uniqueness, data dependence) for the class of equations under consideration.
