Let \(p\) be a positive function of \(x\) and \(y\) of class \(C^1\). A function \(\phi=u+iv\) of \(z=x+iy\) is said to be \(p\)-analytic in a domain \(\Omega\subset\mathbb C\) iff \[ u_x=\frac1pv_y;\;\;v_y=-\frac1pu_x\tag{1} \] in \(\Omega\). The theory of such functions was started in \textit{G. N. Polozhij}'s book (1965; Zbl 0133.33002) and it proved to preserve some important properties of usual analytic functions (\(p(x,y)=1\)) which are not preserved by a wider class of generalized analytic (or pseudoanalytic) functions of L. Bers and I. N. Vekua. Let \[ (-\Delta+\nu)f=0 \tag{2} \] be the Schrödinger equation where \(\nu\) and \(f\) are assumed to be real valued functions. The main result consists in the following. Let \(f_0:=\frac{1}{\sqrt{p}}\) be a solution of (2), then it is shown that any \(p\)-analytic function is transformed into a solution of (2) and vice versa; being the transformation completely simple and explicit. Several corollaries of this fact are obtained.
