The author formulates a fractional-order viscoelastic constitutive equation for finite deformations. The central part is a multiplicative decomposition of deformation gradient into elastic and viscous parts. The viscous part is treated as an internal variable and is governed by a nonlinear rate equation of fractional order. Several interesting numerical examples are given.
