The description of a fault-tolerant version of the one-way quantum computer to perform universal quantum computation by one-qubit measurements on three-dimensional cluster states is proposed. The role of the Reed-Muller quantum code for this scheme and the topological quantum error correction that results from the relationship between cluster states and surface codes are explained. The technique for structuring quantum correlations via topological entanglement of lattice defects is introduced. The error models are discussed and the fault-tolerance threshold is derived.
