The present paper is devoted to the geometrical interpretation of \(G\)-structures associated with elastic material bodies. The notion of uniformity of hyperelastic material bodies was originally introduced by W. Noll and later formulated geometrically by C.C. Wang in terms of principal bundles. Then, M. Elzanowski, M. Epstein and J. Sniatycki, in their study of \(G\)-structures corresponding to different kinds of materials, have considered also the uniformity. Indeed, in the above line of research, the present paper provides a systematic study of the integrability of the material \(G\)-structures. By material \(G\)-structure the authors mean a \(G\)-structure on a material body, where \(G\) is a Lie subgroup of the special group \(\text{SL}(3, \mathbb R)\). The authors discuss and overcome the difficulties of obtaining integrability conditions for some of these \(G\)-structures. The paper provides an extensive bibliography on the subject.
