Uniform frames were introduced by \textit{J. R. Isbell} [see ``Atomless parts of spaces'', Math. Scand. 31, 5--32 (1972; Zbl 0246.54028)] as a point-free version of uniform spaces. The paper studies epimorphisms of uniform frames. Among others, there is proved that the category of uniform frames is not cowellpowered.
