    Eine Demlo-Zahl ist eine ganze positive Zahl mit der Ziffernfolge \(\overline{{\overset{\!\!|} a}_1 \cdots a_p \,b_1 \cdots b_q \,c_1 \cdots {\overset{\quad|} {c_r}}}\); der mittlere Teil \(b_1 \cdots b_q\) kann eventuell leer sein; die Dezimalschreibweise der Zahlen \(\overline{{\overset{\!\!|} a}_1 \cdots {\overset{\quad|} {a_p}}}+ \overline{{\overset{\!\!|} c}_1 \cdots {\overset{\quad|} {c_r}}}\) und \(\overline{{\overset{\!\!|} b}_1 \cdots {\overset{\quad|} {b_q}}}\) soll nur eine, mehrfach wiederholte, Ziffer aufweisen. (Verf., Math. Student, Madras, 6 (1938), 68-70 (F.~d.~M. 64\(_{\text{I}}\), 114)). Einige leichte Aufgaben werden gelöst. Weiter wird die Periode der Dezimalbruchentwicklung von \(\dfrac{1}{p}\) (\(p\) prim) mittels eines Multiplikationsverfahrens angegeben.
