Fragestellung: \(p(x_1,\dots, x_n;\vartheta_1,\dots,\vartheta_l)\) sei eine Wahrscheinlichkeitsdichte im \(n\)-dimensionalen Euklidischen Raum; gibt es stets Bereiche \(w\), denen unabhängig von den Werten der Parameter \(\vartheta_1\),\dots, \(\vartheta_l\) dieselbe Wahrscheinlichkeit zukommt? -- Die Frage wird verneint: So gibt es z. B. für \(0 < \alpha < 1\) kein Gebiet \(w\), dessen Wahrschein\-lichkeit gleich \(\alpha\) ist für alle noch so wenig veränderlichen Werte der Parameter, wenn die Wahrscheinlichkeitsdichte \[ p(x_1,\dots, x_n;\vartheta_1,\dots,\vartheta_l)=\frac1{\big(\sqrt{2\pi}\big)^n} e^{-\frac{(x_1-\vartheta_1)^2+\cdots+(x_n-\vartheta_n)^2}2} \] gesetzt wird. Weitere Beispiele und eingehende Untersuchungen. Wesentlich benutzt wird die Bestimmung monotoner Funktionen durch ihre Momente.
