    Es sei \(k > 0\), nicht notwendig ganz. Ist dann \[ a_n \rightarrow 0; \quad \sum _{n=0}^\infty n^k |\Delta ^{k+1}(a_n)| \text{ konvergent}\, \] (die \(\Delta \) sind die \(k\)-tenDifferenzen), so ist die Reihe \[ \frac {a_0}{2} + \sum _{n=1}^\infty a_n \cos n \vartheta \] für \(0 < \vartheta \leqq \frac {\pi }{2}\) konvergent und die \textit{Fouriers}che Cosinusentwicklung einer \(L\)-integrierbaren Funktion. Für den Beweis ist wesentlich, daß die \textit{Lebesgues}chen Konstanten der \(k\)-ten \textit{Cesàros}chen Mittel für \(k > 0\) beschränkt sind. Der Fall \(k=1\) ist bereits von \textit{Kolmogoroff} bewiesen; für \(k=0\) muß nach \textit{Szidon} \(\sum _{n=1}^\infty \log n|\Delta (a_n)|\) konvergieren.
