The authors consider a second order elliptic problem with discontinuous coefficient in two or three dimensions. The associated discrete problem, constructed by a symmetric weighted interior penalty discontinuous Galerkin finite element method with simplicial nonmatching elements and piecewise linear functions, is solved by a two-level nonoverlapping additive Schwarz method. Also a preconditioning method is proposed which makes the preconditioned system condition number independent of the jumps of the diffusion coefficient.
