    Let \(I_{\alpha}\) be the fractional integral operator \[ I_{\alpha}f(x)= \int_{\mathbb R^n} \frac{f(y)}{ | x-y |^{n - \alpha}}\,dy. \] The commutator operator \([b, I_{\alpha}]\) is defined by \[ [b, I_{\alpha}] f(x) = b(x) I_{\alpha}f(x) - I_{\alpha}(bf)(x). \] Since \textit{R. R. Coifman, R. Rochberg} and \textit{G. Weiss} [Ann. Math. (2) 103, 611--635 (1976; Zbl 0326.32011)] considerd the commuator operator \([b,T]\) where \(T\) is a Calderón-Zygmund operator, many studies have been done about commuators of this type. \textit{G. Di Fazio} and \textit{M. A. Ragusa} [Boll. Unione Mat. Ital., VII. Ser., A 5, No. 3, 323--332 (1991; Zbl 0761.42009)] and \textit{Y. Komori} and \textit{T. Mizuhara} [Hokkaido Math. J. 32, No. 2, 345--353 (2003; Zbl 1044.42011)] proved the following: Let \(0 < \alpha < n,\;1 < p < n/\alpha,\;0 < \lambda < n -\alpha p\) and \(1/q = 1/p -\alpha / (n - \lambda)\). Then \([b, I_{\alpha}]\) is bounded from \(L^{p, \lambda}(\mathbb R^n)\) (Morrey space) to \(L^{q, \lambda}(\mathbb R^n)\) if and only if \(b \in \text{BMO}(\mathbb R^n)\). The author proves the following: Theorem 1. Let \(0 < \alpha < n,\;1 < p < n/\alpha,\;0 < \lambda < n -\alpha p, 1/q = 1/p -\alpha / n\) and \(\lambda /p = \mu /q \). Then \([b, I_{\alpha}]\) is bounded from \(L^{p, \lambda}(\mathbb R^n)\) to \(L^{q, \mu} (\mathbb R^n)\) if and only if \(b \in \text{BMO}(\mathbb R^n)\). Theorem 2. Let \(1<p<q<\infty,\;0 < \alpha,\;0 < \beta <1,\;0 < \alpha + \beta = n(1/p -1/q),\;0 < \lambda < n - (\alpha + \beta )p \) and \( \lambda/p = \mu /q \). Then \([b, I_{\alpha}]\) is bounded from \(L^{p, \lambda}(\mathbb R^n)\) to \(L^{q, \mu} (\mathbb R^n)\) if and only if \(b \in \dot{\Lambda}_{\beta}(\mathbb R^n)\) ({Lipschitz space}). He also considers higher order commutators.
