Let \(X\) be a set. The pair \((X, {\mathcal U})\) is called a uniform space if \({\mathcal U}\) is a collection of subsets on \(X \times X\) satisfying (1) the diagonal \(\Delta_X = \{(x,x)\in X \times X \;| \;x \in X \} \subset U\) for any \(U \in {\mathcal U}\); (2) if \(U \in {\mathcal U}\) and \(U \subset V \subset X \times X\), then \(V \in {\mathcal U}\); (3) if \(U,V \in {\mathcal U}\), then \(U \cap V \in {\mathcal U}\); (4) if \(U \in {\mathcal U}\), then \(U^{-1} \in {\mathcal U}\); (5) if \(U \in {\mathcal U}\), then \(V \circ V \subset U\) for some \(V \in {\mathcal U}\). At the beginning of the paper one can find some basic results on topological entropy for continuous maps on compact uniform spaces. In the third section the authors introduce pseudo-orbits for continuous maps on compact uniform spaces and the pseudo-orbit entropy for continuous maps on compact uniform spaces. After that, they examine the relation between topological entropy and pseudo-orbit entropy. More precisely, they prove that, if \(T : X \to X\) is a continuous map of a compact uniform space \((X,{\mathcal U})\), then the topological entropy of \(T\) is equal to the pseudo-orbit entropy of \(T\) (Corollary 3.4). In the next section the authors introduce periodic pseudo-orbits and after that, they consider the calculation of entropy from the periodic pseudo-orbits. They prove that if \(T : X \to X\) is a continuous map of a compact uniform space \((X,{\mathcal U})\), then the topological entropy of \(T\) is equal to the periodic pseudo-orbit entropy of \(T\) (Theorem 4.1). In the last section, they prove that the topological entropy of a continuous self-map of a compact uniform space can be presented in terms of growth rates of the number of pseudo-orbits that end at a particular point (Theorem 5.4 and Theorem 5.5).
