The author describes nonlinear approximations for Fourier series based on two types of trigonometric generating functions, i.e. the ``geometric generating function'' \(1/(1-x)\) and the ``exponential generating function'' \(e^x\). He applies these approximations to the Dirac delta, proves the convergence, gives the error terms and compares numerically these approximations and the linear approximation using the same data.
