Let us consider a minimizer \(u \in W^{1,p}(\Omega)\), where \(\Omega \subset \mathbb R^n\) is a bounded open set, of the integral vector-valued functional \[ u \mapsto \int_{\Omega} f (x, u, Du) \,dx, \] where \(f : \Omega \times \mathbb R^N \times \mathbb R^{Nn}\rightarrow \mathbb R\) is asymptotically related to a more regular function. The asymptotical condition permits to consider the dependence on \(u\) even as \(|\xi|\rightarrow \infty\). Moreover, \( f\) satisfies some general growth condition, which permits a coupling between the \(x\) and \(u\). The generality of the asymptotics induces a subtle restriction on the regularity required of the various functions in the growth condition, and the author studies these restrictions. In addition, a restricted range of Hölder exponents that depend on the initial data is obtained.
