In this contribution, the authors revisit three sets of polynomials provided in [\textit{M. Masjed-Jamei}, Integral Transforms Spec. Funct. 13, No. 2, 169--191 (2002; Zbl 1017.33005)] that are at the same time finitely orthogonal with respect to three given weight functions, and solutions of the second-order differential equation that characterises classical polynomial sequences: \[\left( ax^2+bx+c \right)y_{n}''+\left(dx+e \right)y'_{n} = n \left( d+(n-1)a \right )y_{n}\] where \(a,\, b,\, c,\, d,\,e\,\) are real parameters. Applying \textit{T. Koornwinder}'s results [in: Theory Appl. spec. Funct., Proc. adv. Semin., Madison 435--495 (1975; Zbl 0326.33002)] that establish a method for constructing bivariate orthogonal polynomial sequences, the authors define fifteen finite sets of two-variable orthogonal polynomials, using the three aforementioned sets of univariate polynomials. The corresponding weight functions, recurrence relations, partial differential equations and generating functions are presented.
