This well written and well referenced paper considers half-homogeneous chainable continua and their end points. A point \(p\) of a nondegenerate chainable continuum \(X\) is an end point if each nondegenerate subcontinuum of \(X\) that contains \(p\) is irreducible between \(p\) and some other point of \(X\). Doucet has shown that any nonnegative integer can be the number of endpoints of a chainable continuum [\textit{J. Doucet}, Topology Appl. 60, No. 1, 41--59 (1994; Zbl 0828.54029)]. The authors of the paper under review prove that any half-homogeneous chainable continuum with a finite nonempty set of end points contains exactly two end points. Furthermore, by showing that the only half-homogeneous chainable continua with exactly two end points are an arc and an arcless-arc, they characterize all half-homogeneous chainable continua with a nonempty finite set of end points. The paper closes with interesting questions. For example, does there exist a half-homogeneous chainable continuum with infinitely many end points which is not an arc of pseudo-arcs?
