Lattice spin systems with a continuous vector-valued order parameter are the subject of this paper. The full magnetic Hamiltonian is considered at equilibrium. It includes singular integrals deriving from dipolar interaction. The nonequilibrium microscopic models are also investigated. They are relaxation-type dynamics arising in kinetic Monte Carlo or Langevin-type simulations of lattice systems. The derived mesoscopic models are used to study the relaxation of such algorithms to equilibrium.
