The author considers implementational aspects of the algebraic multigrid method like construction of interpolation operators and manners of relaxation, for periodic and Neumann problems. Numerical results show remarkable effectiveness for two-dimensional diffusion-like equations possessing discontinuous coefficients or being posed on the surface of a sphere or a torus.
