Let \(Q\) be a Dynkin quiver of type \(D\). An extension of two representations of \(Q\) is called generic if the dimension of the endomorphism ring of this extension is the minimal possible. A generic extension is unique up to isomorphism. In the paper under review the authors explicitly describe generic extensions of a simple representation of \(Q\) by arbitrary representations, and generic extensions of an arbitrary representation of \(Q\) by simple representations.
