Second-order unconditionally stable numerical schemes for the modified phase field crystal (SAV) model with long-range interaction is considered. The model is a nonlinear damped wave equation with a nonlocal term that includes both diffusive dynamics and elastic interaction. The SAV approach is employed to construct linear time marching schemes with unconditional energy stability. The paper is organized as follows. Section 1 is an Introduction. The governing equation and corresponding energy law are presented in Section 2. In Section 3, two numerical schemes using the scalar auxiliary variable approach are proposed, and is shown that they can be decoupled into two linear equations of six-order with only constant coefficients. Unconditional energy stability and the well-posedness in the time semi-discrete case are proved in this section. The stabilization technique is adopted to further enhance the stability of the numerical schemes in Section 4. Some numerical examples in 2D and 3D cases with figures, tables, and graphical illustrations are given and analyzed in Section 5. Finally, some concluding remarks are given in Section 6.
