The paper deals with a nonlinear parabolic system describing a two phase incompressible flow in the ground and the mechanical deformation of a porous medium. The existence of a weak solution is proven by constructing a sequence of regularized problems for which the Schauder fixed point theorem applies and then showing that one can pass to the limit along a subsequence.
