    This paper deals with the quantum particle systems interacting through \(k\)-body forces and creation-annihilation processes which do not preserve the number of particles. Particularly, it concerns the essential spectrum and the Mourre estimate for the systems. Its approach is based on the observation that the \(C^*\)-algebra \(\mathcal{C} \) generated by a class of physically interesting Hamiltonians has a simple structure which allows one to describe its quotient with respect to the ideal of compact operators in explicit terms. This structure of \(\mathcal{C}\) is used to deduce certain spectral properties of the Hamiltonians.
