A Dirichlet problem for the Laplacian in a domain with a corner in \(\mathbb{R}^2\) is transformed into a Dirichlet problem in a slab. For constructing a parametrix for the new problem, a certain class of operators in a slab domain is introduced and it is shown that this class is an algebra. The parametrix is concerned with the Mellin transform and solutions of Dirichlet problems for the Laplacian in wedges in \(\mathbb{R}^2\) [cf. \textit{P. Gérard} and \textit{G. Lebeau}, J. Am. Math. Soc. 6, No. 2, 341-424 (1993; Zbl 0779.35063)]. All the results are stated without proofs.
