The article under review contains a survey of the authors' results on generalization of the Ohsawa-Takegoshi extension theorem together with sketches of their proofs. Ohsawa had given in 1994 the following improvement of the above-mentioned extension theorem: Theorem. Let \(H=\{z_n=0\}\). Then there exists a uniform constant \(C>0\) with the following property: Let \(D\subset \mathbb C^n\) be a pseudoconvex domain. Given two plurisubharmonic functions \(\varphi\) and \(\psi\) on \(D\), where \(\psi\) satisfies \(\sup_{z\in D} ( \, \psi (z)+ 2 \log |z_n|) \leq 0\), then one can find for any holomorphic function \(f\) on \(D \cap H\) satisfying \[ I_{\varphi+\psi, D\cap H}(f):= \int_{D\cap H} |f|^2 e^{-\varphi-\psi} (\sqrt{-1})^{n-1} dz_1\wedge d \bar z_1 \wedge \dots\wedge dz_{n-1}\wedge d \bar z_{n-1} < \infty \] a holomorphic extension \(F\) on \(D\) for which \[ \int_D |F|^2e^{-\varphi} (\sqrt{-1})^{n-1} dz_1\wedge d \bar z_1 \wedge \dots\wedge dz_n\wedge d \bar z_n \leq 2 \pi C I_{\varphi+\psi, D\cap H}(f). \] In the present article it is shown that one can achieve that \(C<1.954\) by estimating the derivatives of the cut-off functions used in the proof of the above theorem carefully. A generalization of the above theorem to the setting of Stein manifolds and \((n,q)\)-forms with \(q \geq 1\) is stated. Finally, a version of the twisted Bochner-Kodaira identity is discussed, where the twist factor is not supposed to be smooth.
